| Tamworth market make-over |
A new market operator, LSD Promotions, has taken over the day-to-day running Tamworth market and is planning to give the stalls a make-over with smart new blue and gold covers. The council say this will save £150,000 over five years whilst improving the market for traders and giving shoppers more variety, with plans for extra stalls in the summer. Market stall rents will remain under the council's control to ensure traders are protected and rent and conditions will remain unchanged.

The first in a series of monthly night markets was held in Barker’s Pool, Sheffield on 11th April. The market features around 30 stalls and the emphasis is on local arts and crafts which have been made or manufactured by a Sheffield person plus food and drink stalls including some selling ice cream, chocolate and biscuits. Some shops are also staying open late into the evening.
