 This ancient market has been running for over 800 years. The stalls line the town centre lanes round Culver Street West, there's around 60 stalls and each one sells something different! You'll find fresh foodstuffs, discounted household necessities, textiles and local crafts. The Chickpea Curry Stall is well worth visiting!
Also Colchester Farmers' Market held on the 1st Saturday in month at the Arts Centre selling organic meat, farmed oysters, free-range eggs and the freshest of fruit and vegetables.

To mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee the late May bank holiday has been moved to Monday 4 June 2012 and there's an additional Jubilee bank holiday on Tuesday 5 June. The first in a series of monthly night markets was held in Barker’s Pool, Sheffield on 11th April. The market features around 30 stalls and the emphasis is on local arts and crafts which have been made or manufactured by a Sheffield person plus food and drink stalls including some selling ice cream, chocolate and biscuits. Some shops are also staying open late into the evening.
