If you're in Lancashire then 4th September 2010 is a date for your diary. Bacup Market is hosting an Art Market where local artists will be displaying a range of contemporary arts and crafts. This annual event is a great opportunity to find unique, works of art by artists from Rossendale and the North West including photographic prints, beautiful paintings, ceramics, stunning textiles, cards and calligraphic items.

The event is being supported by Bacup's Russian Tea Room who will be selling their huge range of teas and even providing free tea tasting sessions at 11am and 2pm. Not to be missed!

Amazing Mary, 80, takes a little time off

We think Mary Tissington's amazing. She's just celebrated her 80th birthday and still works on her the family market stall, often getting up at 3.30am and working through to teatime. Quite rightly, she decided that after 60 years on the stall she ought to be taking things a bit easy now so she decided to... take Fridays off! - just for a few weeks mind until the weather improves at least.
