Featherstone market was facing the axe as part of a cost-cutting scheme by Wakefield Council but has now been handed over to Featherstone Town Council who stepped in to secure its future. Coun Bill Mulroe, Mayor of Featherstone, said, “The Town Council is delighted to be taking over the market and we look forward to working with the traders. The market is an important part of the local community and we want to see it grow over the next few months." If you would like to have a stall at the market contact the Town Council on 01977 722654.
