Nine stalls were raided during the operation and eight people were arrested. Items seized by the team included 804 pairs of trainers, 2,862 items of clothing, 695 handbags, 250 purses and 680 items of jewellery. Bill Bilon of Brent and Harrow's trading standards department, said it was one of the biggest and most successful operations they have conducted at Wembley market, adding that traders who plagued the market with counterfeit goods would not be tolerated. Sergeant Pete Goodchild, of Tokyngton Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: “The value of goods is quite amazing and it means a large amount of money has now been diverted away from criminal activity. We plan to conduct more of these operations in the near future.”

More counterfeit goods worth a massive £1m have been seized, this time at Wembley Market. Stalls were targeted by Tokyngton Safer Neighbourhoods Team in a joint operation with Brent and Harrow trading standards. Disreputable traders were having a disastrous impact on honest market stallholders at the market.
